The son of renowned Teahupo’o pioneer Vetea David, Naionaiki here tames the wave on a stand-up paddleboard. An accomplished waterman, he also doesn’t hesitate to charge the Havae Pass wave using tow-in surfing. The David family thus continues to conquer some of the world’s most dangerous waves, under the watchful eye of water patrolman Vetea, who is never far away.
