Lost in green

Surf Action

At the edge of the world, the 120 km of coastline of the Crozon Peninsula awaits you. Here, you will find a powerful, rugged landscape—authentic scenery plunging into the Iroise Sea. Defined by impressive cliffs to the west, vast sandy beaches to the south, and small, lush coves to the north, the Crozon Peninsula is a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

A stay here offers the chance to discover a preserved region boasting an exceptional natural environment. This Breton land, with its striking contrasts and sheer headlands, is a place teeming with life. Activities include hiking, boat trips, relaxation, gastronomy, sports, culture, and—of course—surfing. Surfers flock here from all over Finistère and beyond, regardless of the season, temperature, or sky conditions.
The peninsula’s main surf spots include the beaches of Kerloc’h and Goulien (in the Bay of Dinan), and—above all—Lostmarc’h and La Palue; all of these beaches face due west.

La Palue: always a wave to ride

This is *the* surf spot of the Crozon Peninsula. Located on the western side of Cap de la Chèvre—between the signal station and the Pointe de Dinan—La Palue Beach truly deserves its reputation as the peninsula’s premier surf destination. It can accommodate large crowds thanks to its vast size (nearly two kilometers long) and waves that break at all stages of the tide. There is always a wave rolling in at La Palue; this magnificent beach always offers something to surf. The waves break over sandbars that shift according to the tides and swell height. At low tide, the waves are surfable but rarely well-formed and somewhat mushy; it is between mid-tide and high tide that they gain power and length. The scenery is magnificent, and in heavy conditions, the waves are powerful (especially at high tide), making this a spot reserved for experienced surfers with a high level of fitness!
Lostmarc’h Beach is also popular with surfers, but swimming is prohibited due to strong rip currents—specifically the “baïne” type—particularly in the middle of the beach.
