Honolua’s Hawaiian roots run deep, so it comes as no surprise that she began surfing at the age of two. The Haleiwa native grew up riding boards of all sizes but developed a strong passion for classic longboards. A natural competitor, Honolua achieved early success, winning her first World Longboard Championship in 2017 at the age of 18. This victory was followed by others: she became the first woman to win the Duct Tape Invitational in 2018 and claimed her second WSL Longboard Championship in 2019. Following her competitive success, Hono starred in Nash Howe’s 2019 short film *HONO*, showcasing her elegant style and intimate connection with the ocean.
